Get Books to People in Prison

The book segment begins 21:10 into the podcast, but the whole episode is good.

On a recent episode of Ear Hustle (one of my favorite podcasts), I learned what it’s like for people in prison to get books, and what kind of books they want. So I did a little research and learned this is something we can definitely help with.

Your action:

  • Hold a book drive with friends, family or colleagues to collect books

  • Contact a local books to prisons program (check out the directory at the Prison Book Program) & give them what you’ve collected.

  • Volunteer (by yourself, as a group) with a books to prisons program to sort, cull, pull, wrap, & mail requested books to people in prison

  • Seattle/WA folks: check out our local Books to Prisoners. And let me know if you set up a group volunteer event!
