AORTA: My Favorite Training of 2022

I'm always on the lookout for trainings, workshops, conferences, and convenings with a specific focus on antiracism and the specific skill of being conducted in antiracist ways.

This year, I particularly appreciated the trainings I took from AORTA: Anti Oppression Resource & Training Alliance

Content-wise: the trainings focused on anti-oppression facilitation techniques, with the goal of "deep democratization and collective governance, developing many leaders, building resiliency and healing, and the practice of principled struggle". I love all this stuff.

Conducting-wise: Each training deliberately reflected what was being taught by how it was taught. Attendees were encouraged to note how this was happening—a rare opportunity to interrupt the focus on the what with a focus on the how.

Know of any other opportunities like this to practice both the what and the how? Please share 😊.
