Office Hours!
Several organizations who I learn from, respect, and follow have begun offering short free or reduced fee Office Hours. I love this model and how it supports human connection and relationality. You're free to show up wherever you're at in your feelings, experiences, or dilemmas as someone committed anti-oppression and liberatory practices. This is a great way to get to know these organizations as they get to know you, and to consider how you could integrate a similar model into your own world.
Your action:
Gather your questions, uncertainties, curiosities about abolition, criminalization, anti-oppression.
Book time at one of the following offices hours:
AORTA (Anti-Oppression Resource & Training Alliance) Office Hours: For individuals or groups working towards racial, economic, and gender justice and who are committed to power sharing and deep democracy
Abolition Media Office Hours with Interupting Criminalization: For media workers & organizers wanting to shift narrative and elevate abolition, and organizers wanting to build relationships with journalists.
Transformative Justice Help Desk with Interruption Criminalization: Support for groups or individuals working on projects or community-wide interventions to end violence without using the police and other carceral systems.
Liberation Line: Free mental health support calls to organizers and activists, offering support, listening, resources, processing, debriefing or strategizing.
